Bathroom remodel: tub surround, niches and hex accent
A dated tile tub surround taken down to the studs and rebuilt with cement board, liquid waterproofing, lit niches and large marble-look tile with a hexagon accent.
About this project
We removed the old tile to the studs, replaced the backer with cement board, framed recessed niches and rolled on a continuous liquid waterproofing membrane before any tile went up. The walls are finished in large marble-look porcelain with a black-and-white hexagon accent column, and the niches have built-in lighting.
